Holcim Ltd - Disclosure of shareholdings according to the Swiss Stock Exchange Act: Shareholding of Barclays plc, London, in Holcim Ltd

In accordance with Article 20 of the Federal Act on Stock Exchanges and Securities Trading (Stock Exchange Act), Holcim Ltd was informed by Barclays plc (“Barclays”), 1 Churchill Place, London E14 5HP, UK, that effective May 2, 2008, through the acquisition of shares and swaps it holds for itself and together with affiliated institutions (see appendix) as an organized group 8.89 percent of the voting rights and of the registered share capital of Holcim Ltd. This equals 23,456,410 registered shares and voting rights. The shares held are equity securities amounting to 5.24 percent of the voting rights and of the registered share capital of Holcim Ltd, equivalent to 13,825,015 registered shares and conversion rights, share purchase rights and granted (written) share sales rights in the amount of 3.65 percent, corresponding to 9,631,395 registered shares of Holcim Ltd. Additionally, “Barclays” owns sale positions in the amount of 6.45 percent or 17,000,000 registered shares and voting rights of Holcim Ltd.
